What a wonderful semester is has been! It flew by and was a lot of fun.
This class was unlike anyclass I have been in before. With the generation we are now in, I think that it would be impossible for most people, special younger ones, to live without technology. Becuase of this, I think that every education major in every college should be required to take a class similar to this one.
Since students these days are so wrapped up in technology of all kinds, this is definetely the most beneficial way to get things through to them. It is something that they understand probably better than most of their teachers, and they will enjoy doing. Rather than sitting in a classroom and taking notes or doing bookwork, doing something interactive and on the computer is a much better way!
I am so happy that I had this class, becuase now I know so many good websites and technology strategies that I can incorporate into my future lesson plans and classroom activites!

Last day of Class. Hooray!!
I am so excited that I only have one more class to go to at 1:30 as a sophomore! Now it is just time to study study study so that I make the Deans List again for this semester.
I am so happy because I got a 96% on my last philosophy test that I took! I really needed that good grade, because I have been struggling in that class and not doing my best on the previous tests. Now I hope I do just as well on the final .
I am moving out of the dorms wednesday night and can not wait! It is time to move out and be happy at home with all my friends. My last final is that wednesday night at 6:40, and it is just a ten minute meeting with my professor, to talk about my views and opinions on the class! Phew, so easy!

Finals are just around the corner!
Along with the nice weather... Comes allergy season!! Drag... every other week it is something else.. stuffy nose, sore throat, sneezing, coughing.. Blah.
Last week of classes are here! Wrapping things up in each class finally. Now it is time to focus on finals. I will be done and packed to go home next thursday! My roomie is lucky because she is done with her finals tuesday. Such a stressful time finals are... Such a relief to get them over with!
The mother that I babysat for last summer just contacted me yesterday,asking if I am available again this summer to help her out. I said "yes maam!" . I loved babysitting them last year. I already knew the family because the daughters went to the aftercare program that I work at. There are two twin girls who are 7, and an older sister who is like 11. Last summer was so much fun babysitting them, because they have a pool! So we always went in it and had a great time.
I also cannot wait to work at aftercare when I am finished with school until the end of June when the kids are finished with school. I will be working there everyday. Also, I am taking two summer classes this summer, so I will be doign that as well monday through thursday!

3 more to go!!!
Three more weeks to go! And I can not wait... Only two things I am dreading.... finals, and moving out! I remember last year it took me like 6 car loads to finally clear out my side of my dorm room... my dad had to come so many times... Ugh. I should probably start now... bummer.
Finals... =( boo. Philosophy is going to kick my butt! andddd it is cumalative.. ah.
I am at work now... Not doing much because my boss is not in today, so their is nothing to do.

Get your feet wet!
As much as I love wearing flip flops... today is NOT the day! it has been pouring now for a couple hours straight. And EVERY where is flooded. even steps... Just walking from one building to another, my feet, flip flops, and pants are soaked!
I am sure all the new blooming flowers are happy to get a drink... but it is wild out!
It is nice being all done with my field observation hours... Do not have to worry about them anymore, and now I can stay here on the weekends more!
I work in the admissions office, and every couple Saturday's there are events such as Open House's and Accepted student days that we can work at. They are a lot of fun, you meet so many new people. All of the incoming freshmen and their families are so nice and friendly! They love getting help and tours from the students at Caldwell. So, there is one this Saturday that I am very excited I can work at because I will not be home for once! Hope the weather is nicer than today!!!

Easter is almost here!
This week is going to fly by! Only three days of classes, and I do not have my two evening classes wednesday! Yippee =)
Easter break will be very nice! Every year we usually go to my shore house in Seaside Park with family for easter, but this year we are going to spend it with my dads side of the family. Something new... I hope we still get to color eggs!
It is currently pouring rain and thundering and lightening outside. Yikes, I am scared. Five or so years ago my house was actually hit by lightening! It was horrible! The scariest thing ever, it sounded like a plane hit into my house! It was so loud. My dad has a police scanner in his room, and it requires a huge satellite antenna thing on my roof, and that is what the lightening hit... it traveled down the antenna, all the way down the wire and into my parents room where the scanner radio was... then caught the curtains on fire! You could see a black line going down the wall of where the wire burnt through the wall. It was very scary... I pray that does not happen again!
I might say this in every blog, but....I WANT BEACH WEATHER!!

Rain Rain. Go away. FOREVER
This weather just puts a damper on my mood! Where are you sun!?!?
This morning at 10 a.m., I presented my lesson plan in my other education class! It is something I have been planning and thinking about for so long. And today was the day. I dressed all fancy like a teacher, and took it away! Half hour was the requirement. I think I did just fine! I wasnt that nervous at all. Just ancy to get it started. Once I was up there though in front of the class, I was fine. =) So relieved it is over with.
Tomorrow morning I am taking the huge social studies test that every education major has to pass before student teaching...UGH. I purposely did not choose history or social studies as my second major for a reason! I am horrible at it! So all tonight me and my roomie will be in the library studying. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I pass, so I do not have to worry about taking it again.
Pray for me!!!

Hallelujah
My brother got a job! Finally!! I know my parents are thanking god! Finally he got a job in his career track, and what he went to school for! My brother is not the best influence on others... He has had a rough and rocky past, of getting in trouble with the cops... ALOT. So, to make a very long 4 years short. He had SO many points on his license... So he unfortunately could not get a job in automotive, which is what he went to school for. Now, a few years later, the points are beginning to clear off of his license. So he went for an interview and got a job as a mechanic at a Toyoto Dealer!! He is very excited yet nervous, and my parents are SOOOO incredibly happy that he finally got a good job in his career path, with benefits and that pays very well. I am proud of him too. Today was his first day, I will have to call him tonight to see how he did!
I can not wait for school to be over for summer break! Have a nice stress free summer with all my friends and family! =) Bring on the beach!!!!!

Web Quest
I still have to work on my web quest some more, and learn more about the website in general. Right now I only have a very rough draft of the main idea that I want to do for my online lesson plan. Now I have to add more details, and work on it being more fun. Also, I need to work on forming a rubric like the examples they have on the website.
I have never heard of web quests before this class, but it is definitely something that I would consider and enjoy using when I become a teacher in the future. Instead of traditional lesson plans and homework assignments, I feel students would really have fun doing projects online. This incorporates technology into learning, and is a different and exciting approach for them.

What a wonderful weekend! Relaxing and the weather actually turned out to be beautiful most of the time!
I did not get any HW done however, so today when I got back to school, I was really busy and tried to get a lot of assignments done.
As if I do not have enough stress every other day being in school... now that scheduling is out for next year, I am even more stressed and worried. I don't know why but registration always stresses me out. Its just something else to think about and worry about.
I hope that everything goes smoothly, and I get into all the classes I need and want.

Blah....
I can not waittttt to go home tomorrow!!! But I am dreading this weather! More snow and rain starting in the morning!??! Come on, its so nice out today! This is torture. However, maybe if it is going to be yucky out all weekend, I will stay in, and get some homework done. We shall see about that....
I have two exams today... I hate Wednesdays. They are my longest day. 4 classes, including a night class. Ugh tough day. I just want to go home! Get out of here.
My parents are going to Atlantic City this weekend, so it will just be my brother and I at home.. This should be interesting. My brother always has so many people over the house to party. Should be a wild weekend. My parents go to Atlantic City all the time with my moms side of the family. They always go out to dinner, and shopping at these really nice outlets! I am so jealous!!

Busy Week
So last week I had my Senior in Highschool student shadow. I met with her at 930 before my first class, we got some breakfast then went to class. They place them according to majors. So she was an education major as well, so they scheduled her to come along with me on tuesday, so she can come along to my education classes with me. She said she really enjoyed my education class and it was alot of fun. It was a great experience for her, and I wish I had a chance to do that when i was looking into colleges. In my first education class that day, students were presenting lesson plans that they created. So we colored and played games, she had a lot of fun!
Tomorrow, I have another student shadow! She is an education major as well I am assuming, because she is scheduled to come to my education classes. I am looking forward to meeting someone else new! It is a great experience for the students and myself.
This weekend is going to be a tough and busy week, a lot of school work and exams. Can not wait until the weekend already!

Enough already!
I am SO sick of this cold weather and snow. ARGH! That nice warm weather last week was such a tease. I can not wait until it starts to get warm again. And i hope this snow melts fast! But..... my mom says its going to be really cold all weekend. =(
So I only have 13 more hours left of observations! So I am thinking three more weekends I will go home, every other weekend. Then ill be done! I do not want to go home too often. Because I want to keep the miles down on my new car. So I have to watch coming back and forth every weekend.
I miss the kids at aftercare so much! Working there every day over spring break was so nice. When I used to work there every day my spring break, that was the best. You get so used to the kids and they get so used to you. they expect you there everyday, and when your not there they freak out. I love all of them! They are so much fun and everyday it is something new. It is an awesome job, and I am so glad I am part of it. I can not wait to work there everyday when I get out of school for good in May, until they get out of school in June! =)

And it all begins again....
So back at school.... and not happy to be here... Had a wonderful nice long break. I was so busy though, it didnt even feel like a break. I worked almost everyday at aftercare, and did observations three days... and shopped for a car tuesday all day! I got one! =) and i love it. 2008 nissan altima coupe. its gorgeous. I am so happy, and lucky to have parents to buy me it.
I also had a lot of hw to do over break... so i was very busy. didnt even get to hang out with any friends. but thats okay. I had stuff to get done!
These next couple weeks are going to be crazy, i still have so much school work to do. and i have no desire to do it. need some kind of motivation to do it!

Spring Break!
I am so excited that I am finally done with classes for the week and it is time for spring break! I am going to stay on campus until Sunday so I can get my school work done, because I can never get anything done at home.
I am looking forward to osberving a few times during spring break, and also working every single day at Aftercare!
My one main goal however, is to buy a car. It is way to hard and frustrating not having one. My dad is just so extremely busy all of the time, because he works 24 and 48 hour shifts in Newark as a Captain Firefighter, and he also doesconstruction, building and remodeling homes, and he teaches in the Fire Academy as well. So he is barely home, and I need him to look at and purchase a car. So that is my goal for spring break! I hope I can find a good one, and have a nice, fun relaxing break =)

Well...not the weather I was looking for...
What a miserable day! This weather is horrible... =( On rainy days like this all I want to do is sleep... stay in all day and relax, be lazy. I am so glad I do not have to go anywhere in this weather though, I got home to observe and back to school before this nasty weather started!
I can not wait until school is over, or at least until this much needed spring break. I am so sick of being at school. I can not wait to get out of hereeeee. Be with all my close friends that I can trust!

Where is the warm weather?!
I am getting very tired of this cold weather! Those couple nice days that we had were such a tease! It was so nice to get outside and go for a run in the beautiful weather. I can not wait until nice weather again. It is too cold! Brrrr...
I am looking forward to going home this weekend! It will be a nice break away from school. I am hoping I will be able to look at cars with my dad or brother! Also, I have some convincing to do. We had to put our dog to sleep a couple months ago... and now my mother, brother, and I all realy want a new puppy very bad. But, my dad! =( He does not want another dog, because it is hard for us to go to our shore house. Because then we have to find someone to watch it. But! My life.
So finally I am starting to get crammed with home work. At first I haven't been getting any hw.. but now I am so stressed with papers, tests, and lesson plans.
I just sold my car last thursday... And I freaked out. Yes Mrs. Ries, my car was my life. I put so much time and money into it, because I am into cars. So, I am now looking for a new car to make my life! And can not wait to find one.
It is so frustrating not having a car. I hate having to rely on other people to take me places, it just makes me feel bad. I thought it was hard getting home every weekend to do 40 hours of observations before, well.... now its 100 times worse.

Bring on the 60's!!!
Word around the streets say, it is supposed to get up to 60 degrees tomorrow! That makes me so incredibly happy! Nice weather just automatically puts me in a better mood. Today is gorgeous as well, I love it!!! The sun is shining and I can not wait until tomorrow =) Now I just have to think of something to do outside. Maybe I will go for a run!

TGIT.
I officially completed a full week of classes! It was a tough one, but I made it. I am so happy I do not have class on Fridays. So, I am off to Bridgewater! Tomorrow morning I have to observe my third grade classroom again. It is a long day for me, going in at 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., then working also at the school's Aftercare Program 2:30 until 6.
I was expecting a lot of snow today, because that is what I heard last week. But now, they are saying no snow. Which will make my drive home tonight much easier!
This blog is something that I think is a great idea for when I become a teacher myself. It will give my students an opportunity to know each other outside of class, and talk about things other than school work.

Birthday!
So, today is my birthday! =) I just wish it was a weekend, and I did not have three classes, including one at 8:30 in the morning. But, otherwise I had a nice day with my wonderful room mates! They're the best!
I have been very busy this weekend! I am currently enrolled in another education class, and we need to complete 40 hours of field observations all during this semester. So on top of doing six classes worth of homework, I now have to drive an hour away every weekend to observe. It is a lot of driving and my parents are not thrilled about it! I just hope this nasty weather stops soon!
I have been thinking a lot about which grade I want to teach when the time comes, and for so long I was thinking definitely second or third, but now I have been thinking I might like to experience a higher grade level. So perhaps next year I will observe a higher grade such as fifth grade.

Blog Numero Uno

I am happy that we had a lot of snow, it was exciting, but I am not looking forward to digging out my car tonight. I went sledding with my roommates, which was a lot of fun since I have not done it in years. Good times! =P
The "Learning Connections" reading was interesting, and I already learned many advantages to incorporating technology into lesson plans. Since I am interested in art, the part that really pulled me in, was Animation Brings Lessons to Life. It is true, hands on experiences and visuals makes learning not only more fun, but also more effective. The example in the reading, of showing children works of art, and then having children break down the images into individual basic shapes. This helps students begin to create images of their own.
So glad it is Thursday, no classes tomorrow!
